USP <800> Environmental Monitoring

Website - USP 800 Monitoring.jpg

USP <800> is the federal standard that focuses on the institutional use of hazardous drugs (HDs). Whereas USP <797> applies to pharmacies, <800> applies to the entire organization and all employees who handle HDs. Environmental monitoring for HDs, or surface sampling, is not required by the standard, but is highly recommended. Taking a proactive approach to perform surface sampling showcases a desire to not only be compliant but to truly ensure your protocols are effective. Pharma Risk Management Associations can help identify appropriate sampling methods for surface sampling and even identify appropriate acceptable surface limits (ASLs) for comparison. Give us a call today to see how we can help you meet and exceed the requirements of USP <800>.
